From the moment you arrive, the elegant facade, restored meticulously in keeping with Champagne heritage, promises a truly memorable experience. Spanning an impressive 5,000 m2, the new premises are the result of an ambitious architectural project where subtle contemporary style meets tradition, all the while showcasing local craftsmanship. The various spaces constructed from local Saint Pierre Aigle limestone and French oak create a warm, authentic atmosphere bathed in natural light.
Once inside, the ground floor leads on to a tree-lined cloister with open interior garden; sure to whet your wine appetite amid a tranquil, lush and verdant haven unique to Reims.
This free, educational, interactive tour
for the whole family takes visitors through the following zones:
- 3D model of Reims Cathedral: paying tribute to the city's historic and cultural legacy, underscoring the close ties between the Champagne region and its rich heritage.
- Wall of Curiosities: showcasing antiques, ancient and rare tools and original anecdotes relating the history of Thiénot Champagne, from its foundations to international renown.
- Interactive map of the Cru Villages of Champagne: 6 m2 relief panorama reveals the rich diversity of the Champagne terroirs, from Premier Crus to Grand Crus, and shines a spotlight on the unique influence of the soils and climate.
- Working Model of a vine for an immersive insight into the vineyard growth cycle, from winter right through to the harvest, for a better understanding of how each tiny action can influence fruit quality.
- Wine production replica: a series of interactive working exhibits bringing to life the winemaking process.
- Aroma workshop by grape variety: a sensory experience to learn how to identify the iconic aromas associated with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Our historic cellars: an immersive experience in the depth and grandeur of our wine cellars
Once your booking confirmed, a guided tour will take you underground through almost a kilometre of galleries. Immerse yourself in our historic cellars, where ancient architecture meets cutting-edge technology.
The guided tour, available in several languages, is ably led by a team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable experts. This section of the tour takes approximately 1 hr to complete and is interspersed with interactive exhibits, audiovisual screenings and artistic interpretations, providing a packed programme of engaging and multi-sensory experiences. Highlights include:
- Immersive screenings on the chalk walls, explaining the importance of terroir in Champagne.
- Step back in history with a film by founder Alain Thiénot, retracing the family history.
- Explore an authentic 13th century cellar, a real-life testament to centuries of expertise.
- Remuage or 'riddling' demonstrated with the aid of lighting to understand this vital stage in the making of Champagne.
- A brief pause in the impressive Vinothèque wine museum, an elegant sanctuary ideal for tasting and discovery.

And to complete the tour, a tutored tasting of two of our iconic cuvées, where our expert, passionate guides will take you on a journey to reveal the subtle aromatics, structure and all-important effervescence in Champagne.
